In a blog
for Maclean’s magazine, Dr. Jim Woodgett, Director of Mount Sinai’s Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, shares his thoughts on the topics of discussion being presented at the fourth Canadian Science Policy Conference
.The three-day conference, beginning November 5, 2012 in Calgary, brings together researchers, science administrators, business leaders and political commentators. While several of the topics touch on important developments and the role of science in driving innovation and policy, Dr. Woodgett argues that the agenda also skirts several of the most pressing issues concerning science in Canada that, together, form an existential threat to the way we fund and conduct science.
